Our actions are through cultural events (art exhibitions, literary readings, theatre showings), conferences, educational and youth projects. Our partners include NGOs from throughout Europe and in other countries, foundations, and, more rarely, European government cultural departments/representations.

Mission and Objectives:

Alternatives Europeennes aims to promote cultural exchange throughout Europe and the relations between cultures having their origins in Europe and those from the rest of the world, political education about the functioning of European institutions and their relations with other parts of the world, and promoting human rights, gender rights and migrant rights issues.

Main Projects / Activities:

We carry out cultural activities such as the annual Transeuropa Festival. This is a cultural and political festival which takes place in several cities simultaneously. In 2010 it took place in Paris, London, Cluj-Napoca and Bologna. In 2011 it will take place in over 10 cities. We include in this festival artists and writers from throughout the world, and have had spotlights on Mediterranean writers and poets in previous festivals. We run cultural and artistic projects throughout the years throughout Europe, and also in other countries such as China and Brazil (where we have projects bringing together artists and writers from Europe and Asia), Saudi Arabia and Morocco (where we are connecting young people with young people in Europe).
