ALWATAN Center is a Palestinian non-profit, non-governmental organization working for Developing the PAlestinian community by building the capacities of the human resources. ALWATAN was established in August 1988 to help the Palestinian community, youth, children, women and elderly people by providing them with up-to-date information in particular cases to foster great public awareness and support on different issues of great importance to the community.
ALWATAN is a grass rooted organization with a wide experience in capacity building programs since 1988 and partnership with many local, national and international organizations.
Alwatan is managed by the board of Trustees, local and iternational who are experts and well known personalities who aim at develop the Palestinian community. The center is run by full time staff, trainers and a secretary, in addition to volunteers who help in the center daily activities.

Mission and Objectives: 

The main objectives is to build the capacity of Palestinian community and build an intercultural exchange.
Educating Palestinians about nonviolence, peace, liberal democracy, human rights, fair elections and the rule of law.
• Increase and improving the education and professional standards of the community through literacy projects, vocational training, and photography.
• Encourage work at the grassroots level on the principles of nonviolence and peaceful coexistence for positive social change.
• Provide them with basic conflict resolution skills in order to deal with conflicts they are experiencing in their lives on a daily basis.
• Create bi-communal dialogue for participants to understand the bonds of human beings and share (the sense of openness).
So, the project will assist youth, women and children be familiar on the necessity of practicing the democracy and the non-violence/ mediation and dialogue in the Palestinian civil society and the necessity of Peace building.

Main Projects / Activities: 

ALWATAN Center for Civic Education, Nonviolence, Conflict Resolution and Media is a Palestinian non-profit independent organization working to build the capacities of civic society organizations and local activists and raising awareness about different issues that encounter the Palestinian society.
ALWATAN in Arabic means “The homeland”. The Center aims to provide capacity building programs in civic education, non-violence and conflict resolutions.
ALWATAN was established in August 1988 to help the Palestinian community, youth, children, women and elderly people by providing them with up-to-date information in particular cases to foster great public awareness and support on different issues of great importance to the community.
ALWATAN is a grass rooted organization with a wide experience in capacity building programs since 1988 and partnership with many local, national and international organizations.
