We deliver services from our community art centre in Stockwell and out in the communities we work with. 60% of our work is based in Lambeth the rest pan London, national and international. We are committed to delivering high quality creative experiences and believe in the power of art to transform lives. Our services include, collaborative art projects in schools and communities, accredited training courses for children, young people, adults and families, volunteering and corporate engagement.

We have 4 directors, 2 executive who run the business and 2 non-executive. We have 10 members of staff. We operate a mixed income stream from sales, funding and grants plus contracts.

Mission and Objectives:

• Art4Space is an award winning not-for-profit social enterprise founded and run by professional artists with more than 17 years’ experience
• Visual art is at the centre of everything we do
• We connect and enhance communities through art and inspire individuals through creativity
• We are a local organisation with an international reach
• We work with organisations and individuals to deliver creative solutions

Main Projects / Activities:

Art4Space is rooted in the community where we live and this is proven by our local projects success such as: ‘Connecting Stockwell’, a project that supported the transformation of the local high street, by using mosaic and ceramic art work. Made by local people and facilitated by Art4Space, the Connected Stockwell project gave the community a sense ownership local pride in where they live. This is especially essential as the scars of the shooting at Stockwell station have left an unease in our streets, a contribution such as this brings a positive talking point to our streets, allowing local people to engage with one another and build on their connections.
We were able to fundraise locally and were supported through local networks for sponsorship, and then supported though crowd funding and grants. Over 400 local people got involved in the project and brought to life a transformed space we can all be proud of in our local community.

We carry out approximately 20 projects per year.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?:

My philosphy and work connects, inspires and enhances communities through creative projects. My desire as a freelance cultural leader and a social entrepreneur is to continue to make a difference through cultural and art intervention, creating safe space for expression, creativity and develop new knowledge within areas of struggles. It is vital to empower communities for ways to development and social change. Giving power, skills and tools for their own creative projects.
I love developoing intercultural projects and proud of my work in Chile, India and Africa and links to my work are:

I want to bring together values and share practice and ideas for social transformation.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?:

As an example, research is part of my artistic development too, my objective here is to find ways to increase diversity in cultural exchange projects and to build and expand a good international network leading to further projects. I currently have a bid submitted with the Arts Council, Artists Development Fund for a Peace Project with schools in Columbia aiming to develop my practice as a cultural educator, it is working with the Director of Communications and The Ministry of Culture and artists there who share similar artistic and socio-political concerns and hope both offer insight into different development models that could influence my practice through the feedback gained. I have also fundraised for the Kenyan school ambassador to do an intensive training course which I will be hosting in November to empower and gain skills to widen his impact in Kenya.

ALF will allow amazing opportunities for sharing work and networking across the EuroMed.
