Arts Cabinet develops international art and culture exchange programmes that draw on the challenges posed by global issues, such as migration, conflict, human rights, with the aim to raise awareness of the critical state of knowledge and cultural production in the Global South.

Conceived in various formats ranging in scope and scale, the programmes offer opportunities for hands-on research, collaboration with artists, public engagement and dissemination. The programmes are devised collaboratively and engender meaningful discourses that support cultural diversity and creative engagement between artists, curators, activists, digital experts and the intellectually curious.

Mission and Objectives:

Arts Cabinet’s main purpose is to further and facilitate the understanding of contemporary art.

Arts Cabinet serves as an advocate for contemporary art and a catalyst for cultural exchange. By forging and brokering strategic partnerships with higher education institutions, cultural organisations, art practices, philanthropists and experts across the world, Arts Cabinet is able to devise and deliver activity in a wide range of contexts and formats.

Public programmes formed of workshops, artists and curators talks, exhibitions and seminars are central  to Arts Cabinet’s activities which support the organisation’s mission to raise public awareness and understanding of contemporary art.

Tailored artist research residencies provide international artists, curators and practitioners with opportunities to engage with researchers and experts, produce and present new work, as well as contribute to share knowledge in public platforms dedicated to cultural dialogue and critical enquiry.

Taking the urgency of the global context into account, Arts Cabinet is determined to create conditions that support diversity and positive, forward-looking cultural exchange.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?:

We have several reasons for wanting to join the Network:

  • we are very interested to develop work across the EU, Mediterranean and the wider Middle East
  • we want to build partnerships and explore areas of common interest, develop common funding and resource pools including the opportunity to share knowledge
  • we have a strong commitment to artist mobility - we want to participate actively in the ALF network as a key part of our strategy for developing international networks and building fruitful partnerships
